Great Valley High School partnered with American Athletic Track and Turf to upgrade its athletic facilities through the removal and replacement of its existing running track. The project focused on installing a custom blue Beynon BSS-200 running track with gray exchange zones, custom striping, and new take-off boards and sand catchers. The goal was to create a modern, high-performance track that supports both training and competitive events while enhancing the visual appeal of the athletic complex.
The Challenge
The existing running track at Great Valley High School had deteriorated over time, affecting safety, performance, and aesthetics. Cracks, uneven surfaces, and fading lines created hazards for athletes and limited the school’s ability to host competitive events. The school needed a durable, visually striking solution that would restore the track’s functionality and meet the demands of its athletic programs.
Our Plan
We worked closely with Great Valley High School to develop a plan focused on revitalizing their running track. Our strategy included removing the existing track surface and installing a new, custom blue Beynon BSS-200 running track with gray exchange zones. Custom striping would enhance lane visibility, while new take-off boards and sand catchers would improve the functionality of field event areas.
Our Work
The project began with the careful removal of the existing running track surface, ensuring a clean and stable base for the new installation. We then installed a paved-in-place base mat to provide a durable foundation, followed by the application of the Beynon BSS-200 surface. This system included multiple layers of water-based structural spray texture, enhancing traction and longevity. The custom blue track with gray exchange zones was designed to reflect Great Valley High School’s colors, creating a vibrant and distinctive athletic environment. Precise custom striping was applied to meet competitive standards, and new take-off boards and sand catchers were installed to support field events, ensuring a comprehensive upgrade to the entire track and field facility.
