It was there Bill began learning nuances of sports construction in 1968.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Yet it was another event that set him on the path to founding American Athletic Track and Turf. Bill became a member of the top-ten-rated Florida State University track and field team, giving him an insider\u2019s view on the 1974 construction of the team\u2019s state-of-the-art running track complex.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The facility\u2019s inaugural event culminated in a rousing victory that saw the #7 Seminoles thrash the division\u2019s #2 South Carolina Gamecocks. Bill knew he\u2019d discovered the passion that would shape his career going forward: the construction of athletic facilities that exceeded all expectations for value, performance, longevity, safety, and aesthetics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n With the memory of that excitement fresh in his mind, Bill graduated college and, in the winter of 1982, left his father\u2019s company to strike out on his own. American Athletic Courts, Inc.
